Circle of Two is an international acrobatic mime duo formed in 1999 by Celia Mendizabal and Ralph Taylor. Their newest and oldest creation is Bambolina and Dodo. They are both multi-talented and versatile artists who have worked together all over Europe. They have appeared in theatre, festivals, circus and cabaret and are also experienced in teaching circus workshops to people of all ages. Celia and Ralph are both members of Equity and therefore hold Public Liability Insurance. They also have Enhanced CRB disclosures.
There are a variety of acts including different acrobatic disciplines such as trapeze and acrobatic balancing. The Bambolina and Dodo story can be told in 4 minutes, in 20 minutes (including duo acrobatics) or in 40 minutes (including romantic doubles trapeze), as required, without losing its magic and appeal!
Comedy Burlesque version – an adults only comedy burlesque version, suitable for revue shows. When the clock strikes twelve, magic begins and a doll comes to life. A poetic pantomime full of romanticism, comedy and illusion inspired, amongst others, by the stories of E.T.A. Hoffman and the ballets developed after them, Coppelia and The Nutcracker.
“To describe Circle of Two as an acrobatic mime act would be selling them rather short. Here we saw a set-up character arriving on stage with a marionette style, human music box statue. The coquettish persona comes across, as she searches for love among members of the audience. This was classic imaginative mime, married with old revue style sophisticated cabaret.“ The Stage, 20 June 2011.
